Nico-Secrets

There are two details about her nature that Nico keeps silent about, if at all possible.

Immortality

Her immortality firstly takes the form or her not aging. She has a relatively high tolerance to illnesses, but she can be infected and die of them, and she can be killed. Secondly, if she dies, she’ll wake up in a different world, with whatever posessions she had with her at the time. There will be some after-effects like headaches or soreness depending on how she died, which last about a day, but all in all she’s healed and healthy.

She may admit to the non-aging or being extremely long-lived to people who are familiar with the concept, but would not reveal the “resurrections” to anyone save very close friends if there’s a chance of talking herself out of it. A possible subterfuge may be her claiming to have a sort of panic-induced and uncontrollable teleporting powers.

Dragon

Far in the past, a number of dragon spirits for a short time resided inside Nico’s mind. She retains some psychic traces - not the mind of a dragon, but a sort of rudimentary personality, with no respect for life, but a rotten temper, and certain powers.

Nico only accesses the wind-sense unconsciously, and the low-level telepathy. Otherwise she does not dare to experiment, because she is afraid of strenghtening the dragon aspect. Other things that may draw it closer to the surface include:

• Nico panicking or, moreso, getting furious
• A trip in the mountains, high altitudes, wind, particularly flying - the reason why Nico avoids hang gliding
• A telepath trying to probe deep into Nico’s mind - this is a nearly surefire way. The dragon aspect’s mechanism of defense is dumping a lot of choice bad memories of Nico in the nosy telepath’s mind in an instant, which the reason why Nico tries to warn such an individual off.

“The dragon stirring” can involve Nico losing control and going into a berserker rage, flares of telekinetic blows in a fight, or in extreme cases even pyrokinesis.

Nico keeps this more strictly secret than anything else, having told probably only two people, Daaren? being one of them.
