Nico

Nico is a human who jumps around between worlds. In the long term rootless, she swings between occasionally trying to lead normal, low-profile lives, and “adventuring”. She’s ever the optimist, and loves meeting interesting people and visiting interesting places.

Appearance

• Basics: human female, looks about 20 or younger, white (tan depends on where she was recently), 1,48m (4′10′’), athletic (relatively wide shoulders and somewhat toned), quite flat-chested
• Face: rather square jaw, strong eyebrows and nose; brown eyes; light brown, thick hair, usually worn short and, unless very short, messy
• Bearing: Depends on the situation; she has some liking for theatralics. She seems to default to lively and energetic, though.
• Voice: relatively deep; She’s good at conveying emotion and such with tone, and can project her voice, but is not a particularly good singer.
• Clothes: She defaults to simple and robust for every day (ie whatever equivalent to “jeans and t-shirt” is most suitable for the setting and weather), but likes to dress up on occasion, while still preferring trousers to skirts. She avoids high heels or platform shoes as well as floor length skirts because they hamper movement, and plunging necklines because she thinks they look silly on her.
• Comment: In loose-fitting clothes she’s occasionally mistaken for a male without her consciously trying, which she considers rather amusing.

Personality

Nico likes occasionally putting up a show, but she doesn’t hog the limelight; encouraging people to step up to the stage gives her a performance to enjoy, too.

She also likes talking - bantering, exchanging stories and speculations, not only talking to someone who listens. When dealing with people she’s generally friendly, but has this habit of being very polite to “lower class” people, while treating “higer-ups” inappropriately buddy-like, slightly overstated. She is more interested in tales and stories, and generally will not snoop around in someone else’s private life. (Direct questions are OK, as long as the other party is not obviously getting uncomfortable.)

When facing trouble she’s likely to take it as a welcome challenge, but she’s not so insane as to not worry at all.

It’s hard to say what her daily life is like, because she can appear anywere, from complete wilderness to interstellar space stations.

Abilities

Nico has learned a lot during her life.. lives…, but most of it is forgotten, or at least half forgotten - often when it seems like she learns something new very quickly, she’s only re-learning it.

Liking movement - gymnastics, dancing, freeclimbing, you name it - she likes to keep in shape even if she didn’t have to, and is therefore quick, nimble, and probably stronger than most people expect from someone her size.

Due to that, as well as experience, there’s a good chance she can stand her own in a fight. She likes sparring and playfights, but in a serious struggle she’s most likely to try to get away quickly, unless there are good reasons not to.

In terms of Eodean telepathy, she can pick up “broadcast thoughts” with some difficulty, which she uses mainly to help her learning new languages from scratch when needed.
