Gabriel Andersen

Gabriel Andersen is a smug bastard of a vampire. He thinks he is cool and God’s gift to women, the only problem is that most of them don’t know it.

He makes something like a living (barely) as a pulp fiction author.

Personality

While naturally rather agressive, he practices some self control to keep out of trouble. (His current state ID says he is born in 1942; seeing how he looks way to young to be past 60, this might lead to some serious problems.) That doesn’t keep him from making acidly sarcastic comments.

Gabriel spends a lot of his time trying to pick up women for one-night stands including biting. He can heal the bite wounds and mess with his victim’s memory to avoid being found out, and is careful not to cause too much harm. He doesn’t have ethical reasons, but he is careful not to attract attention of the authorities. The fact that he looks way younger than he is might cause some trouble he doesn’t want to risk. Since his flirt methods (raunchy pickup lines) are not too successful, it is a good thing that he does not need much blood… Other activities include • writing (which is his more or less steady job. pulp horror, sometimes erotica.), for which he uses a circa 8 years old computer. • trying to learn enough about mechanics to get his very old motorbike running again [note to self: research motorbikes] • (rarely) cooking. He collects recipes for pasta sauce. random notes •addicted to coffee •somewhat claustrophobic (no problems “just” in rooms with closed doors, but in small rooms and narrow spaces) •actually likes garlic, but hates perfume and strong flowery scents to the point that they make him sick, especially vanilla (wouldn’t kill him, but weaken him to a point where he’d be easy to kill. so to say)

Appearance

1,85m/6′1′’, athletic build (he does light workout regularly, but not a ‘bodybuilder’-like figure, if that makes sense); Judging from his looks he would be in his late twenties, but in fact he is way older (backstory’s a bit hazy still, but at least 50)
Hair: black, rather fine and slightly wavy, medium lenght (12 cm?); stair cut that has been left alone for too long; generally cared for in a “wash, towel, comb with fingers” fashion;
Eyes: light blue
Distinguishing marks: slightly pointy ears.
Preferred clothes: simple stuff like Jeans, teeshirts (plain white or grey), jeans- or leather jackets, sneakers or “biker-boots”. Jeans stuff mostly dark or medium blue, stonewashed/faded out. NOT intentionally ripped clothes, and washed frequently.
Jewellery: several earrings (well, simple, silver studs) in each ear. (I’m not sure about the exact number, either, I draw as many as fit, which are generally 5–6.) A small silver cross on a thin chain, but that’s nearly always under his clothes.

Relations

Scribbles
“She’s okay. Actually she’s the only one in this house I can ocasionally have a nice chat with. Only problem is her ‘ooh, I’m a muse’ obsession; her ideas are just too weird for my taste.”

Angus
“Okay. Imagine the world’s most annoying mother-in-law. Get rid of the family connection. Turn her male. Give him the ability to appear anywhere near you out of thin air. Then you’re pretty close.”
Angus has proven that it would be no problem for him to kill Gabriel, but due to his morale code won’t do that unless the vampire caused serious trouble. Gabriel doesn’t try to hide that he hates Angus (that’s mutual), but he generally avoids him as much as possible, is careful not to say or do anything that would/could get Angus seriously mad.

Pips
The more rarely he sees her, the better. Gabriel would like to think he can make anyone nervous if he tries (and as long as we’re talking about normal people, he may very well be right), so this little kid who acts like she genuinely likes him is going on his nerves. He suspects she’s just acting like that to annoy him, but is not entirely sure. (see story snippet in her character profile)

Story Notes

Gabriel rented a room from Nicolas (how exactly, I have no idea). Nicolas knows that he’s a vampire, and doesn’t care. After years of being stressed out by an overly curious landlady he had to keep this little fact hidden from, he enjoys being able to let his guard down at home, and would not like to quit - that is the only reason he did not move somewhere where he does not have to deal with the fae.

Quote
“No, I don’t kill people. Do you have any idea how difficult it is nowadays to get rid of a corpse without leaving traces?”
