Gabriel Andersen
Gabriel is a vampire from an alternate earth with added (but not generally known) magic elements.
He makes something like a living (barely) as an author of horror and erotica pulp fiction.
He’s an amoral egoist, but practical – for example he doesn’t usually kill or attack people to avoid getting in trouble with the authorities.

Appearance
- Basics: male, caucasian, fair-skinned (but not unusually so), appears to be in his late 20s, 1,85m/6′1”, toned/muscular build, without getting into ridiculous bodybuilder (or superhero or DBZ) shape.
- Face: square, strong jaw and wide chin, but somewhat rounded corners, aquiline nose with tip pointing down, wide mouth with upper lip thinner than lower, attached earlobes. Ears are pointed slightly, though usually that’s covered by hair.
- Eyes: light blue, corner somewhat higher than middle. Eyebrows are relatively thin for a guy, even width, and angled.
- Hair: black, rather fine and slightly wavy, short to medium lenght; stair cut that has been left alone for too long; generally cared for in a “wash, towel, comb with fingers” fashion
- Preferred clothes: simple stuff like Jeans, teeshirts (plain white or grey), jeans- or leather jackets, sneakers or “biker-boots”. Jeans stuff mostly dark or medium blue, stonewashed/faded out. No ripped clothes, and washed frequently.
- Jewellery: several earrings (well, simple, silver studs) in each ear. (I’m not sure about the exact number, either, I draw as many as fit, something like 3-5.) A small silver cross on a thin chain, but that’s nearly always under his clothes.
Abilities, Activities etc
- Gabriel spends a lot of his time trying to pick up women for one-night stands including biting. He can heal the bite wounds and mess with his victim’s memory to avoid being found out, and is careful not to cause too much harm – as said before, not for ethical reasons, but to avoid trouble for himself.
- Writing pays the bills. He uses a rather old and clunky computer.
- He has some interest in vintage motorcycles, and owns something that with enough work and spare parts might turn into a working Zündapp KS 750
- He’s addicted to coffee.
This Brand of Vampirism…
- Sunlight is deadly
- He needs to drink fresh blood. Preserves do not do. Animal blood would be less “nourishing”, but he’d have to be off very bad before stooping that low, anyway.
- He has keeneer senses when compared to a human, particularly night vision and sense of smell. Speaking of smell, he doesn’t mind garlic, but sweet scents are bad. Vanilla deodorant is Gabriel’s kryptonite.
- Speed and reflexes are considerably better than in a human in his apparent physical shape, strength only marginally, though both is flexible depending on how recently he has fed, and how much energy he’s willing to spend.
- He doesn’t need to eat, drink or breathe (other than for speaking), his heart doesn’t need to beat, and he doesn’t have to produce body heat – but he eats and drinks for enjoyment or in social contexts, and keeps up breathing, and usually also heartbeat and body heat, to avoid seeming strange to keen observers
- Crossing running water (ie rivers) is possible, but exhausting.
- Gabrial can mess with people’s minds slightly – manipulating memory, or popular-culture-”hypnosis” kind of stuff – after he has bitten them.
Relationships
Gabriel is sort of stuck with Jessica, first because he’s rented a room in the house of Jessica’s brother, which she was asked to look after for a while.
Later a fae with considerable magic powers, but little common sense, put a spell on him that basically forced him to protect Jessica, while she (and Vlad) followed her brother who started exploring parallel worlds and had to be brought back.
He does not like her at all, but for those practical reasons mostly shows it by being patronising or sarcastic.
